    Description

This is a large saucer or plate in the Nursery Rhyme pattern of children's dishes, made in 1888 in England.  The maker was Whitaker & Co. and the dish has the English registration mark of 103739 dating it to 1888.  It is the rhyme "There was a Little Man who had a Little Gun and his Bullets were Made of Lead, Lead, Lead."  The rest of the rhyme would have been on other pieces of the set.  This piece is 5" across and about 1/2" deep.  There is a slight indentation in the middle that might be for a cup.  It is fully marked on the base and in excellent condition.
