There is some irregularity to the glazing around the edge. Along the alphbet at the Q and the R there is some flaw at the surface that I think is from manufacture. Description

This is a very charming, very flawed child's plate with raised ABC's  (letters) running in a circle around the edge.  The center of the plate has a polychrome decoration.  The transfer on the old ironstone is a farm scene with a man on an odd horse, a dog, people in a canoe or little boat, a chile, a man with a can or stick and women working with baskets possibly doing laundry by a small pier or landing, trees, and a house with a chimney with smoke coming from it.  The colors are brown, a vibrant green, blue and a mauve (pinkish red).  The plate is 7 3/8 diameter.  The back has no makers mark.  The coloration is consistent with Charles Allerton & Sons or C.A. & Sons iron stone ware.  But it is so much like the Staffordshire alphabet plates that I cannot say for sure which it is.  Feel free to ask questions.  Thank you for looking and have a nice day!
