Lovely Chinese 2 piece Bulb Planter
Planter Pot
White pottery with blue hand-painted scene to both long sides, appears hand-crafted as it is slightly irregular in shape
Chinese characters to both short sides
Glaze to top sides & top lip edge, remainder unglazed
Center 3/4" diameter hole
Exterior planter/pot measures about 5 1/2 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/8 (not including under plate/dish)
Footed all around with gaps to center of feet at each side
There is a long hairline, which is across the bottom and is UNDER the GLAZE to up the side. Not through & through.

Rough & hand-crafted with irregular shape ~ created for utility rather than beauty!
Top edge & side edge are glazed, remainder is unglazed
Exterior measures about 5.5 x 3 1/4 x 1/2
About 2 tablespoons of water fill this irregular plate, measured without the pot in place (so capacity will be less)
There is a long hairline across exterior bottom which carries up to each side, not through & through.
The hairline is UNDER the GLAZE at both ends ~ seems more to me like a repair during crafting, without smoothing surface
Discoloration & mineral deposits
I mention that hairlines are partially under the glaze because it appears to me to be part of the handcrafting prior to firing

My late Asian friend had a Bonsai, orchid & Asian floral design store in New Orleans ~ she potted her plants & trained her Bonsai in her home atrium, which was filled with pots like this, though is not one of hers.
