exquisite antique French sterling silver napkin ring is beautifully designed in relief with a pattern of mistletoe, a typical motif of the
Art Nouveau
period. It is engraved with an inscription from the grandparents to their
grandson,“

”. It bears the French “
Minerve
Premier
Titre
” hallmark indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The
Minerve
Premier
Titre
is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. It also bears the maker’s mark of
Charles Murat
, master silversmith in Paris between from 1897 and located in the rue des Archives. The maker’s mark consists of the initials “C.M.” surrounding the image of a blackberry flower. This napkin ring is in excellent condition with the exception of faint scratches due to age and normal use. It will be a prestigious addition to your collection.
