This exquisite antique French sterling silver napkin ring is magnificently designed in the “
repoussé
” technique in a Neoclassic pattern of garlands of roses and flowers. It is monogrammed with the engraved and interlaced initials “J” and “E” in a shield embellished with acanthus leaves and ribbons. This napkin ring bears the French “
Minerve
” hallmark or “
Minerve
Premier
Titre
”, indicating the highest quality of French sterling silver (950/1000), used in Paris since 1838. The
Minerve
Premier
Titre
is the guarantee that the sterling is at least 95% silver. It also bears the maker’s mark of
Henri
Gabert
and
Emile
Conreau

master silversmiths in Paris, rue
Beaubourg
, between 1901 and 1906.
