Antique Hand Built Folk Art Wells Fargo Express Stage Coach ca 1900s

Description

This is an amazing antique stage coach which looks to be 1900-1920 era. This large leather and wood coach measures approx 16” long and 10 ½” tall.
The outside of the coach is lined in leather and has “WELLS
FARGO
EXPRESS”, “DODGE
CITY
”, “
SANTA FE
” all painted on each side.
The wood doors actually lock and unlock (one door lock needs work).
The windows appear to be made of celluloid. The wheels are wood with a metal band around the diameter.
The leather on the inside needs to be re glued (see photo).
Included is the wood yoke for the front of the coach (there is a very old repair on the yoke). The wood base was probably added much later and could be easily removed if desired.
Overall the condition of this item is good considering its age. This is not a toy but rather a historical model and it looks to be made in early 20

century or possibly late 19
th
century.
