    Description

    Nor'Easter Yachts offers custom designed filament wound fiberglass tubing, utilizing our 5 axis series 5K Entec Composites filament winding machine.  This series of winders was originally designed for the aerospace industry. This machine has a maximum length of 10', and a max diameter of 30". IN practice, uniform lengths are shorter, to allow space for the control eye to turn.  Ends have a thicker wall thickness.
    This material is relatively easy to drill  or cut with standard high speed or bimetal blades and drills.  For improved tool length, carbide is recomended.  Can be bonded with regular polyester or epoxy resins and fiberglass, with proper preparation.
    This tubing is offered by the foot. When purchasing, in quantity, select the desired number of feet. No charge for cutting.
    This listing is for a 63" length of 12" ID tubing in stock.  Sold by the foot.  We will cut to your desired length.  This particular piece does not have the veil layer, and the fibers are readily visible on the inside. See photos below. This exposed glass could potentially allow water wicking, so is not the best configuration for submerged tubing, but would be excellent for structural applications.
