    This Vintage LE Smith Daisy and Button Amberina Ruffled Bowl is in excellent condition. NO chips or flea bites. Measures 5 ¾” in diameter and stands 3 1/8” tall. Displays well when lighted. Small pedestal/foot to the bowl, with ruffled or crimped edge. This bowl has one of the nicer deep red ruby red ruffled edge that blends to the yellow foot. One of the nicest ones I have come across.
    A Little History: Though the L.E. Smith Glass Company was founded by "Lew" Smith in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, in 1907, the company is better known for the glassware it produced from 1910 to 1921 at its factory in nearby Mount Pleasant. It continued all the way through the 1970’s making many types of glass. However The financially troubled L.E. Smith Glass Co., one of the last hand-molded glass factories in the United States, abruptly ceased production on July 2, 2004 after talks between a potential buyer and a major lender.
