    Description

Iconic Ashtray Stand for Trains designed by W.J. Campbell for Climax Machine
Made for use on early 20th century train lounge cars of the 1930's, this is a
very rare and collectible railroad piece similar to a Henry Dreyfuss machine aged period design.  Made of steel and chrome, this Ashtray/Drinks
stand is extremely heavy to prevent tipping or falling over.
The ashtray itself has a lifting device to deposit spent ashes into a tube which can then be emptied.
The circular tray surface is removable to serve your favorite cocktail, while enjoying a smoke. This example is in great structural condition, however it does show cosmetic wear to the finish, notably light surface rust but
could be restored to like new condition. It's a really nice, hard to find piece of railway history that you seldom see today.  This unit has been in my wife's family for many years but it has come time to part with it.
Measures 27" High and 17" Diameter across the Serving Tray.
