Medusa’s Salon Overdrive - Handwired Guitar Pedal - Fairfield Barbershop Clone. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This pedal is based around the Pedal PCB Chop Shop Overdrive ( https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/chopshop/ ) which itself is a clone of the V1 Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop Overdrive. This is a fantastic low to mid gain drive that has a unique and incredibly great sound.
I feel like 90% of drive pedals in the world are simply Tube Screamers or Blues Breakers with some minor tweaks. This pedal is different and one that is really catering to musicians. It does not really do distortion or fuzz, but excels at being just a great sounding overdrive. Even the controls are unique — instead of a tone pot, we have a a Sag control to adjust the character of the drive to really dial in and create the exact type of grit you want in your tone. This is a very versatile drive — although all it does is drive, it is a drive you can make very fine adjustments to create exactly what you are looking for. I truly believe this circuit is a modern classic and is one you see on lots of boards.
Check out some reviews of the original and listen to some samples on YouTube — this pedal is simply amazing. This clone sounds exactly like the original.
This pedal was hand-built and hand-wired and has been fully tested. The pedal was built with top-of the line parts: 1% tolerance metal resistors, silicone wiring, higher quality capacitors, the whole shebang. I sourced the parts myself, so I could get the highest quality components possible. I am not expecting or trying to sell this pedal for anything close to what an original would go for. I would love for this pedal to go to someone who is curious if this sound matches their rig or setup but isn't sure they can afford a “real” one. Would I like to get a few bucks to cover the cost of materials? Yeah. Do I expect to even fully recover the money I put into building this? Nope. I will likely take whatever I get and buy more parts to build more pedals. I just don’t want to have a pedal sitting in a drawer that I do not use.
I am only selling because I need the space more than I need the gear. Please see the photos for condition -- what you see is what you get. Please email with any questions or concerns. This pedal works perfectly and is in great condition. The photos included are of the actual items you will receive. Thanks for looking.
