Old Chinese Porcelain Jardiniere
Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this old Chinese porcelain jardiniere, planter, or vase. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This piece has a white background and the exterior is decorated in the famille rose palette. With colorful flowers, butterflies, and a large bird, the decoration might be considered consistent with that of the Straits, Peranakan, or Nyonya style. There is no drainage hole. This large pot is approximately 9 1/2 inches tall, with a maximum width of about 11 7/8 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 9 pounds 5.1 ounces. This piece would be a fine addition to a collection of Asian decorative arts.
Identification
This Chinese pot has a red mark beneath, as shown. The exact age of this piece is not known, but it is believed to be antique.
Condition
This piece has light wear overall, with minor, scattered wear/losses/flaking to the decoration. The rim has worn gold paint decoration. The porcelain has no cracks. There are some shallow chips to the foot ring beneath. The interior has soiling from use. There are some small, black scuff marks. There are scattered, rust-colored spots around the inner rim. As made, there are minor flaws such as dimples, dark specks, or puckered areas in the glaze; there are some raised, linear areas below the rim which look like minor mold flaws. 1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
