SANTA FE RAILROAD EL CAPITAN HIGH DOME BUSINESS CAR YEI FIGURE SAND PAINTING LIGHTS UP.
Very exclusive offer here. This is a Kachina-related sand painting of the Yei figure that was placed in the Hi-Level Diner of the El Capitan business car. This piece is extremely rare with only a handful that have survived in collections. There were only 6 Hi-Level diners, numbered 650-655, and these panels were ONLY used in those cars. There were only 4-5 of these used in each car, so that makes 24-30 that were EVER designed, and that number that has survived is even less. These panels were used in these exclusive cars, often featured behind the passengers, as indicated in the last photograph. They were designed from ancient sand paintings created by the Zuni people. The panel measures 37 7/8" tall, 16 1/2" wide, and 1 3/4" thick, basically triple-pane glass with an insert in the middle that would set up in a partition and was lit from the bottom. These can actually be lit with a cell phone or done professionally with a string of LED lights along the bottom and makes for a stunning display, a beautiful, and EXTREMELY rare offering for the passenger car enthusiast or Santa Fe collector!
