    You are bidding on this vintage 1940's HARKER pottery china rolling pin with a tulip floral motif. The rolling pin is approximately 15 inches long.  There are no chips, cracks or crazing. These were used in the old days prior to homes having central air conditioning. Many women baked pies and other rolled out desserts, but it was hard to roll the dough when it was hot in the kitchen. So bakers would fill this up with ice water or even place it in the refrigerator with water to cool it down and make it easier to work with the dough. It is still a great item to use these days too!
